The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) has released their monthly update on sexual violence service development.

This update includes information about work that is currently in progress and tenders for various sexual violence services. The tenders will be released on the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS). You can register for GETS now.

The tender for the National Sexual Violence Helpline is currently open until 30 June 2017. Upcoming tenders and requests for proposals include:

  • Provision of crisis support services in geographic areas where gaps have been identified, expected to be released in July
  • Delivery of a Kaupapa Māori Harmful Sexual Behaviour Service Pilot for non-mandated adults, expected to be released in July
  • Research commissioned by Superu on support for male survivors of sexual abuse, expected to be released in June

Other highlights from the June update include:

  • Work continues on finalising the service guidelines for new contracts for sexual harm crisis support services and harmful sexual behaviour services.
  • MSD plans to conduct an evaluation of harmful sexual behaviour services for non-mandated adults during the next two-year contract term.
  • Further consultation will be happening for services for male survivors of sexual abuse. Information will be published in the monthly MSD updates.
