Entries are now open for the 2017 E Tū Whānau Song Competition.

The competition highlights songs that inspire positive change and that incorporate one or more of the six E Tū Whānau values:

"Aroha - giving with no expectation of return

Whanaungatanga - it’s about being connected

Whakapapa - knowing who you are and where you belong

Mana / Manaaki - building the mana of others, through nurturing, growing and challenging

Kōrero awhi - positive communication and actions

Tikanga - doing things the right way, according to our values"

Songs can be entered until 22 May 2017. Voting opens on 1 May 2017.

More information is on the E Tū Whānau website and the E Tū Whānau Song Competition Facebook page.

The song quest helps raise awareness and provide information about family violence to young people. Last year was the first year of the song quest and the top songs from 2016 competition are available online.
