In this talk, Prof. Janet Fanslow will present and explore findings from He Koiora Marapopore | The 2019 New Zealand Family Violence Study on the associations between women's and men's violence exposure and health outcomes.

He Koiora Matapopore | The 2019 New Zealand Family Violence Study is a cross-sectional population-based survey of over 2,800 women and men. Participants provided information about a wide range of experiences of violence. In this talk, findings about the associations between women's and men's violence exposure and health outcomes will be presented and explored.
Speaker:
Professor Janet Fanslow is a population health scientist specialising in violence prevention and the promotion of mental health. She has expertise in measuring the prevalence and consequences of violence and developing and supporting implementation of health care system responses to violence.
Janet is a Professor at the School of Population Health and Chief Advisor of the New Zealand Family Violence Clearinghouse. In 2018, she was awarded membership of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for services to the research and prevention of family violence.
