The United Kingdom Home Office chose the 25th of November, the International Day of Action on Violence Against Women to release it’s national strategy for the elimination of violence against women and girls.

The strategy has a three pronged focus of:
Protection - delivering an effective criminal justice system, including investigation; prosecution; victim support and protection; and perpetrator programmes
Provision - helping women and girls to continue with their lives, including effective provision of services, advice and support; emergency and acute services; refuges, and safe accommodation
Prevention - changing attitudes and preventing violence including awareness-raising campaigns; safeguarding and educating children and young people; early identification/intervention and training.
