A majority of people support the law change that offers children the same protection from assault as adults according to research released and commissioned by the Office of the Children’s Commissioner.

The survey was conducted by UMR Research in May and June 2008 and the findings are reported in Omnibus Survey Report : One year on : Public attitudes and New Zealand’s child discipline law which is available on the Children’s Commissioner's website.
