This newspaper article reports on a prevention initiative by Police and the National Campaign for Action on Family Violence in the central and lower North Island.

Known repeat offenders will be sent warning letters and receive visits before and after Christmas. The Christmas period is acknowledged as one of the busiest periods of the year for domestic violence.
