Thank you to all who responded to the Clearinghouse User Survey we carried out in November 2012. It provided valuable feedback which is informing our future planning and development. Key results include:

  • 441 people completed the survey.
  • 26.8% of respondents were working in a specialist family violence service. 9.6% were working in a family/relationship service, 7.2% in law/justice, 7.2% in health/medical, 6.2% in a specialist sexual violence service and 5.5% in a kaupapa Māori service.

  • 56.5% of respondents had found out about NZFVC through a work or study colleague. 11.8% had found out through the NZFVC newsletter. 15.7% had found out by looking on the internet, for example doing a Google search.

  • NZFVC services ranked most useful were the resources, newsletter and the news section of the website

  • Issues respondents wanted more information on included children and young people; kaupapa Māori approaches; sexual violence; and stopping violence programmes. We are currently considering how to best meet these needs.

Comments:

“The research articles and news clips on the newsletter are great! I have often found resources I have not been aware of before reading about it on the newsletter.”

“I love the staff interaction and the borrowing service.”

“The Clearinghouse is a major resource for specialist DV organisations ... Our work has been hugely enhanced and some aspects such as our policy analysis made much easier by the resources available through the Clearinghouse.”
