Police Safety Orders (PSO)

Police safety orders came into effect on 1st July.

They are linked to a range of initiatives launched by the Ministry of Justice aimed at further supporting victims of crime. Police now have the ability to issue a PSO which requires any person who represents a threat to leave the premises for up to five days. PSOs offer the person(s) at risk protection by putting in place standard conditions that parallel those in Protection Orders, for the duration of the PSO.
