Children’s Day has been celebrated in New Zealand for the last six years. There will be no Children’s Day this year due to the date being changed to avoid Labour Weekend, and in the hope that the day will coincide with more settled weather. From 2007, Children’s Day will be observed on the first Sunday of March each year.

Now is the time to start planning 2007 events. Local Councils, schools, early childhood centres, service clubs, community organisations, clubs and groups, and any other groups interested in creating a fun event for children on 4 March 2007 are encouraged to start working on an action plan.

If you need advice on sponsorship or organising an event call 0800 10 33 22 or email givingtime@childrensday.org.nz.
