houseThe Otago Daily Times has published two articles regarding the services provided by Women’s Refuge in Dunedin.

The first article details the business of the Women’s Refuge in Dunedin and nationwide over the Christmas period, and over the year generally. In the year July 2010 to June 2011, Women’s Refuge reported an 11.6% increase in the number of women and children using their safe house accommodation, with a three day increase in average length of stay.

Together the articles aim to give insight into the crucial safe house service provided by Women’s Refuge. Women’s refuge opened their doors to the Otago Daily Times in the hope of raising awareness of the work they do, and dispel existing misconceptions about the condition and nature of refuge houses.
