NZ Herald article “Self defence”

This newspaper article explores the issues of psychological and financial abuse as understood within a domestic violence framework.

Through the use of three brief case studies the article focuses on the different experiences of older people, of psychological and financial abuse. Comment from Age Concern, Women’s Refuge and Shine is provided. The article also looks at two current initiatives which are trying to make a difference in the area of victim safety: Shine’s Safe @ Home prevention project and the lobby group It’s STILL Not Ok.
