The Department of Internal Affairs in partnership with ECPAT New Zealand have launched a new hotline for reporting child pornography – images of child sex abuse. ECPAT New Zealand are a local branch of a global network of organisations and individuals working together for the elimination of child prostitution, child pornography and the trafficking of children for sexual purposes. The hotline enables people to report sites that they consider contain illegal images of child sex abuse using a free Child Alert browser plug-in.

The request will be processed by ECPAT and referred to the Department of Internal Affairs Censorship Compliance Unit who will access the site and prevent any further downloading of illegal images. Full information is available at: ECPAT Child ALERT
