Netsafe launches online Safety Partnership Grant programme

NetSafe has launched a new scheme to provide grants for research, projects and service initiatives related to harmful digital communications. The scheme is funded by the Ministry of Justice.

Harmful digital communications includes damaging online communications such as online harassment and cyberbullying through the internet, email, apps, social media or mobile phones.

Netsafe is looking to fund projects focused on:

• preventing and lessening the impacts of online bullying, harassment, revenge pornography and other forms of abuse and intimidation
• enhancing and extending existing initiatives.

Individuals, groups or organisations can apply for funding. Grants are available up to a maximum amount of $50,000 per round. Applicants must match Netsafe’s contribution either financially or with in-kind support. There are two funding rounds in March and September each year. Projects need to be completed within 6 months.
