MSD consulting on Māori strategy and action plan

The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) is seeking feedback on a draft Māori strategy and action plan designed to identify ways that MSD can improve how it works with Māori.

The deadline to submit feedback is 20 February 2019.

After engaging with service providers, staff and whānau who receive MSD services, a draft strategy and action plan was drafted, called Te Pae Tata (2 pages). MSD has published one-page summaries of the feedback collected from each of the groups.

MSD is now seeking feedback on the draft strategy and action plan from:

• "Māori who receive services from MSD
• MSD staff (both Māori and non-Māori ) who deliver services to, or whose work impacts Māori
• Providers (both kaupapa Māori and mainstream) who deliver services to Māori clients on behalf of MSD."

You can give feedback through an online survey. It has six questions and MSD says it should take 15-25 minutes to complete.

Te Pae Tata is expected to be finalised and published later in 2019.
