Hauraki Domestic Violence Intervention Network seeks a child advocate for Children and Young People in the area of Family Violence.

This is a full time position servicing Thames Coromandel and Hauraki District Council areas.

This exciting new role has been created to ensure the voices and needs of children and young people who are living in family violence situations are heard and acted upon. You will be required to work within the community and with providers to enhance and integrate existing services, and to identify and report gaps in services for children and young people affected by family violence, and to increase public awareness of the effects of violence on children.

The suitable applicant will have:
• A qualification in social work (minimum of a Diploma in Social Work); or
• Hold a relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. psychology, child development, education, advocacy or counselling); or
• Have relevant community work experience and a clear commitment to completing or achieving a relevant qualification; and
• At least three years relevant experience advocating for children and young people or providing family violence prevention and/or support services
