A Family Violence Death Review Committee is currently being established by the Ministry of Health.
Feedback on the Draft Terms of Reference for the Committee is being sought.
The Terms of Reference are based on the requirements for mortality review committees set out in the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000, and the Ministry of Health’s report to the Taskforce for Action on Violence within Families, Family Violence Death Reviews. The Committee will be established under sections 11 and 18 of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000.
Feedback is due to the Ministry of Health by Thursday 13 March 2008 and a public nominations process for the Committee is likely to begin in late March.
