From 1 October 2014, Australian domestic and family violence and sexual assault clearinghouse functions will be provided by the new National Centre of Excellence (NCE) to Reduce Violence Against Women and their Children. Clearinghouse functions are currently provided by Australian Domestic and Family violence Clearinghouse (ADFVC) and Australian Centre for the Study of Sexual Assault (ACSSA).  Established under the National Plan, the NCE will provide centralised responsibility for core clearinghouse functions and services such as research dissemination and events and guide the research agenda on violence against women.

Funding for ADFVC and ACSSA will end on 31 December 2013. Between 1 January and 1 September 2014, they will continue to provide certain functions and services while the NCE makes preparations in consultation with the two clearinghouses for the new arrangements. ADFVC and ACSSA will also work with the NCE to hand over crucial functions in the transition period. The new arrangements will start operating from 1 October 2014.
