This Community Comms Collective event aims to build confidence in social media community management, mis- and disinformation and managing risky content.

This is a Community Comms Collective workshop for not-for-profits and collective volunteers hosted by Volunteer Wellington and supported by JacksonStone & Partners. 

At this free 3-hour social media training for not-for profits, Social Good's Katie Brown will share:

  • how to manage risky content and comments

  • what systems to put in place to manage disinformation and 'bad actors'

  • how to plan a mini-campaign that reaches your audience and keeps you safe

  • tools and tricks to get your messages to the right people

  • how to manage your online community.

About the presenter.

Katie Brown (Ngāti Raukawa, Ngāti Whātua) is a digital strategist doing social media, communications, marketing, and strategy for local and international organisations. She’s worked in digital channels since the start of her career at Trade Me and now runs her own business, Social Good, whose focus is on using their digital powers to furthering good mahi, for the people or the planet.
