Sexual abuse can be prevented if the adults around children know how to recognise grooming and respond effectively. Take this course to acquire and build the knowledge and skills required to prevent child sexual abuse.

Grooming involves a perpetrator establishing a trusting relationship with a child and those associated with the child’s care and wellbeing, to create an environment in which sexual abuse can occur. Sexual abuse can be prevented if the adults around children know how to recognise grooming and respond effectively.

After this training attendees will:

  • Understand the motivations of adults who sexually offend against children.

  • Recognise risk factors of child sexual abuse.

  • Recognise signs and patterns of grooming, both face to face and online.

  • Respond appropriately to grooming concerns.

  • Prevent and interrupt grooming behaviour.
