A new film by the White Ribbon Campaign is now available online.

The 35-minute film Raise Our Men features interviews with New Zealand men talking about being socialised as boys and their experiences as men.

The film is available as a resource for anyone working with men (including young men). It explores gender roles, emotional expression, masculine identity, peer groups, abuse, relationships, respect, consent and more.

People working on intimate partner violence, sexual violence, child abuse and related issues may like to view the film at staff or team meetings.

White Ribbon has also produced a discussion guide for the film with questions to prompt reflection and action on the themes.

Short clips (one-two minutes) are also available which can be used in training and education workshops and shared on social media.

Communities who wish to put on free screenings can contact White Ribbon.

The film premiered at Hollywood Cinema, Auckland and has screened on Māori Television.

The film was produced as part of the White Ribbon Campaign 2017, with the theme Raise Our Boys.
