The conference organisers advise, "Organizing Committee (IOC) of the World Conferences, and the World Health Organization (WHO) have made the difficult decision to postpone the 14th World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion 2020 (Safety 2020) as originally planned in Adelaide Australia, from Sunday 8 to Wednesday 11 November 2020, to Sunday 27 to Wednesday 30 November 2022." Watch this space.

"We sit at the nexus of major changes across the globe with technology significantly embedded in our lives, working conditions changing with the gig economy, climate change, increasing global population, self-driving cars, and wider recognition of violence and sexual harassment thanks to movements such as #MeToo.  The future holds many opportunities and also on-going challenges for all who work in injury prevention and in this conference we want to explore what action we are going to need to do to make the world a safe place.

This conference will bring together people from across the globe to explore, discuss, and develop injury prevention strategies.  To allow for us to maximize our time together there will be a wide range of presentation types from key note speakers to 1 minute poster advertorials.  The conference will hold workshops pre, post and during the conference, there will be debates, meetings, site visits, conference declarations, and on the weekend following a writing retreat." Associate Professor Richard Franklin, James Cook University, Convenor: Safety 2020
