Rainbow Safe has been designed for kaimahi working in family and sexual violence agencies as well as policy makers, service managers and everyone interested in understanding more about violence.

Register for the Kirikiriroa | Hamilton training on Tuesday 16 April 2024, 9am-4pm.


Rainbow Safe focusses on creating safer spaces for Takatāpui and Rainbow people seeking specialist support after experiencing harm.

The course will cover:

  • Introduction to Takatāpui and Rainbow identities

  • Stigma and discrimination

  • Profile of violence for the rainbow communities

  • Risk and protective factors

  • Embedding theory to practice

  • Rainbow safe parameters

  • Moving to better practice

About the facilitators:  Hohou te Rongo Kahukura is a Te Tiriti informed organisation.  All courses are delivered with a partnership of Takatāpui and Tauiwi rainbow facilitators, who have worked within organisations that prevent or respond to violence.
