What is a good life for families? And how do we get there?
*** Update (16 March 2020) *** - The organiser has made the decision to postpone the AIFS 2020 Conference. The organiser is investigating rescheduling the AIFS Conference towards the end of 2020 and will keep delegates, speakers and sponsors informed. New registrations have been suspended.
So what makes for a ‘good life’? This seemingly simple question has dogged philosophers, economists, legislators, leaders and citizens through the ages. The AIFS 2020 Conference, will tackle this question head on to ask: what is a good life in the face of rapid social and technological change? At different stages of our lives? What do children and young people, families and communities hope for? And how do we design and deliver service systems, institutions, policies and laws that help us to realise the aspirations of citizens?
The Australian Institute of Family Studies is the Australian Government’s key research body in the area of family wellbeing.
Every two years the AIFS Conference attracts more than 600 leading thinkers and professionals from a diverse range of sectors and disciplines to explore key questions on what works (and what doesn’t) for families. The purpose of the AIFS Conference is to share knowledge and build cross sector capability to bring about positive change in family policy and service systems.
The AIFS Conference sparks bold conversations on the trends, promising evidence, big challenges and emerging issues for families.
Pre-conference workshops will be held on Tuesday 9 June 2020 followed by the 3 day conference.
